One gift under $100 you would recommend for someone like yourself? 

It's that time of the year and I am sure you have  heard this before  "give me an idea!....you are the hardest person in the world to buy for!" 

I normally answer a Franck Muller Crazy Hours in blue, green or black dial with Casablanca/Cintrex case. 

Unfortunately Di's love doesn't stretch $15-$20 K.  I will try and be better next year 

 

So good people. We enjoy  a great hobby together and likely have have similar interests. Given that's the case, what have you seen lately that:

• Spiked your interest. 
• Is under $100 
• Is not a Gift Card 
• are not Whiskey Rocks/Stones

I’d take a half decent bottle of aftershave. Ombré leather or something of the sorts. You can’t get much worth having for less than $100 these days. I'm a sucker for buying used off Facebook market place, but unfortunately most of my hobbies have high buy-ins.

Maybe a house plant / ornament or a portable speaker? 🤷🏻‍♂️

In the US we have a growing number of options for shipping regional food all over the country, bbq from Texas, pizza from New York, I’d go for something like that.

Probably a tie between whiskey stones and that whiskey glass with a cigar shelf molded in 🤣. Throw in a couple NC Montes and Cohibas while you’re at it.

I usually appreciate something quality and American made like a leather wallet. I love cooking so something quality for the kitchen is always appreciated.

In high school, my best friend and his older brother would each buy a $50 gift card to the same store for each other 🤣 It was brilliant.

I'm one of those hard to buy for people because I don't want much and if I want something I buy it myself. I always tell people, don't buy me a gift, just come hang out with me and that's the best gift they can give me, their company and time.

My go to's are:

- take me out to a decent dinner, nothing too fancy, or cook me dinner

- book me a massage 

- a bunch of hiking / backpacking snacks and meals (https://www.rei.com/c/food)

- tickets to a local sports game and pay for my food and drinks when we're there

$100 would be books/ vinyl or a bottle of rum/ whisky that wasn't too fancy. The El Dorado 15 and Redbreast 12 often hit a special at $99 so likely that.

I'm genuinely not fussed about presents at Christmas, if I want or need something I generally buy it. 

If someone could think of something I'd actually want then brilliant, but just having a wild stab because I'm a man/dad, don't worry, just say merry Christmas and save the cash! The post Christmas tidy up usually reveals last year shit gifts as I try to hide them away in that draw of crap.

Your "Classics" list is 95% me, too. Throw in pocket knives, grilling/griddle/smoker accessories, and cooking seasonings (think BBQ seasoning shakers from cooker teams, etc) and I'm a happy guy.

Sadly, I was a recipient of that horrendous cocktail glass with cigar cutout set last year. Appreciated the thought, but it's just an absurd concept in so many ways. Condensation would immediately invite burn issues for the cigar, and it's hot where I live 9 months a year... They've never been removed from the box.
